This exhibition initiates a dialogue about freedom between artist Jean Joseph, academics from the University of Bristol, and people seeking asylum in the UK.

Textures of FreedomTalk & Q&A

Adom Philogene Heron, (Visual Anthropology) will be in conversation with artist curator, Jean Joseph discussing her practice, the artwork in the exhibition, and their shared Dominican roots.

Tuesday 2nd May 11am - 6pm

Slow Art

This initiative encourages visitors who choose, to view the art at a leisurely pace. On average a visitor can scan several works in a short space of time without having engaged with a single work of art.

The Art of Marronage: Fugitive Knowledge from Brazil and Colombia

Bethan Fisk (Colonial Latin American History) and Jose Nafate (Lusophone and Black Atlantic History). In conversation with Jean Joseph about Marron networks and knowledge production in Latin America and Caribbean.


MMPPF and MMB, University of Bristol in collaboration with Earthworks collective presents an art exhibition by Jean Joseph.
